Excl. taxGenesis records the history of a worldwide watery cataclysm that destroyed almost all land-dwelling creatures and completely reshaped Earth's surface. Cultures around the world retain the memory of this great deluge, but secular geologists insist it's a myth - there never was a global flood. But they've never looked at the rock record across multiple continents simultaneously.
ICR geologist Dr. Timothy Clarey does just this in Carved in Stone: Geological Evidence of the Worldwide Flood. With an oil industry background, Dr. Clarey utilizes his understanding of oil well and seismic data to see what the rock strata actually reveal about Earth's past. Many people might be surprised by what he finds.
Rather than reflecting millions or billions of years, Earth's rock record demonstrates that a global flood occurred just thousands of years ago. Carved in Stone showcases the geological data compiled across North America, South America, and Africa, with more discoveries to come as Dr. Clarey works through the remaining continents.
Carved in Stone examines the sedimentary rock record continent by continent, layer by layer. The data provide clear geological evidence of a year-long progressive flood just as described in the Bible. Rock data do not lie.

My degree is in Science, but I never had much interest in studying Geology and didn't take much Physical Science in college. This book is an incredible source of new knowledge that had to be painstakingly put together from oil drilling core samples. Understanding the concept of progressive flooding by ecological zone makes so much sense and puts together evidence interpreted from a Biblical historical perspective. I am even more convinced of the veracity of scripture and of the account of our beginnings. The Flood of Noah definitely explains what we see across the globe in the sedimentary layers. A fantastic work by Dr. Clarey that is still ongoing!
I had been looking at this book for a while, but was hesitant to spend the money. This book was worth every penny. Not only does it share amazing evidence of the global flood from the geological rocks, but it also is a large, beautiful book, almost a coffee table book. The pictures and diagrams are amazing. This truly is a beautiful book. The science is deep and explained in detail.
This is an outstanding book and a landmark achievement. Using real data from oils wells and seismic measurements, the author is able to show convincingly that Noahs flood as described in the bible has been a real event in history. This book is highly recommended for everyone interested in the creation-evolution debate, both for sceptics and for believers.
Best explanation I've seen for the geologic record. Rocks may not lie, but it sure helps when they are interpreted from a foundation of historical truth. This book looks at the record of geologic sequences and uses data -- much of it from the petroleum industry -- to make a case that the rock record is a better match to the history of a global flood than to the long-ages explanations that we so often are taught in schools and from interpretive signs in national parks.
This is the best book that I've seen on its topic, and provides an amazingly clear description of how catastrophic plate tectonics would have resulted in successive inundations of the continents leading to the six major geologic sequences that we see in the rock record today. The author is honest, stays focused on his data, and is up front when he chooses to speculate on aspects of the geologic record that aren't yet clear.
This book is must read just for the data alone, and the understanding that it provides of the geologic sequences even apart from the question of whether they were laid down by a flood. The data though, does support flooding as recorded in historical book, Genesis. The author makes a strong case, and provides data, footnotes, and references that can help you to understand and internalize that case, and then to defend the flood as an historic event.
I'm enjoying the read. The book is essentially in three categories. The first section gives you some beforehand knowledge of geology. The second is about the flood itself. The third is post-flood topics and miscellaneous. Thanks Dr. Clarey!
