In Revelation: A Verse-by-Verse Guide to the Bible’s Book of End Times, Tom Meyer treats the book of Revelation on a verse-by-verse basis with a consideration of how the original audience might have understood it. This books presents the results of Tom’s own personal Bible study and lengthy exposure to Jewish thought and practice while living in Jerusalem for four years, as well as the insights he’s gained from memorizing the entire book.
Tom Meyer has an M.A. in the Historical Geography of Israel and an M.A. in Middle East Culture and Religion from Jerusalem University College, and is currently a professor at Shasta Bible College and Graduate School in Redding, California. He’s the author of numerous Bible commentaries and a guest speaker at churches and conferences where he dramatically recites books of the Bible from memory.

I always wanted to know more about the country, customs, and way of life of Israel. I was the “question asker” of my church Bible study classes-not a favorite of teachers who did not know answers. How I wish I had had access to this book then. This book pulls the Bible together. Ever read or listened to a passage and thought “that sounds like end times” only not to find an answer-you will in this book. Not only does Tom Meyer pull prophesy together in Revelation from all over the Bible he reveals details we’ve all wondered about and never knew the answer. I’m not quite through this book and yet am planning to reread it with a BSF Bible study on Revelation. 5 stars are not enough for this book. I recommend it highly to anyone who wants to know more about the ins and outs of the Bible.
